Day 7

Today started off nice with a small breakfast in the hotels lobby, we didn’t do too much last night apart from have a meal and a little walk around the waters edge. We still cant get over the fact that America is just across the water, anyway we set off today with Thunder Bay in mind but at 700km from our starting point we didn’t expect to make it especially if we stop off for some sightseeing.

As it turned out about 25 minutes out of town we came across a tourist attraction that really got us both interested, Tree top activities. The idea being that you and a team of others tether yourselves to a wire that is above various obstacles between trees with and get yourself round the course without falling, but just in case you do, the tether keeps you safe, the whole thing finishes off on on a 1/4 mile zip line.
BUT the whole thing was going to take about 4 hours and we didn’t think we had that amount of time, so very reluctantly we declined, all the way to our final destination we kicked ourselves for not doing it, so we have checked on the internet and there are plenty to do en-route so we will definitely get to go on one, I will mount a camera to the helmet so you can all see what its like, unfortunately one of the mounts broke today so it will only be one of us not both. Anyway I am digressing, after we left the tree top site we had a mixture of weather as we drove around Lake Superior but it got better the further we drove, at around Wawa there was a small attraction called Scenic High Falls, so we stopped for a photo and a walk about. Then from there we went into town for some lunch and had another Subway’s and sat by another lake, (becoming a habit).
After lunch we drove onto to Marathon where we plan on stopping over for the night, we found a reasonable motel with a restaurant over the road so it has all the basics. Lorna has just told me that there is a Zip line place in Thunder Bay so I think tomorrow there could be some good photos and videos.
